Our next three moves on the digital backbone of places

By Adam Beck | Program Lead, Future of Place
Earlier this week we hosted our monthly Future of Place Discovery session where we discussed the topic of the 'digital backbone of successful places'.
We had opening statements from a range of guests including:
Matthew Sapsworth | Manager Information, City of Canning
Claire Chaikin-Bryan | Smart Cities Lead, Lake Macquarie City Council
Krishan Maheson | Digital Innovation Manager, City of Darwin
Sarah Leach | Principal Coordinator, City Analytics - Economic Development, Brisbane City Council
Paul Francis | Regional Solutions Director - Digital Solutions, Jacobs
Our audience was given a first had account of how public places were being transformed to provide better experiences, enhance sustainability and catalyse economic development.
Our interactive session with the audience worked through some key questions:
What are the outcomes that should shape our investment in digital infrastructure in the public realm?
What are your biggest barriers to digital infrastructure deployment in the public realm?
What should be our next three moves?
Our Discovery Board is still live and we encourage you to take a look. What do you think? Feel free to jump in and contribute, add a card, vote on an existing one or post your comments below.
